GFY Ambush Interview thread on Poppy
Question #1
What does "finger good, tongue better, dildo bad mean?"
What a way to start the interview. Love how it doesn't start with, please tell us a little about yourself...LOL.
Okay, I may be off a little here, so I'm sure Eric will jump in at some point. The scene is the first year of Cancun and from what I remember it was me, Eric Matis, Sunny, Allison (Topbucks), Sleazy and a few others enjoying a wonderful drunken sailboat outing. I believe Topbucks or Adult.com sponsored it. Anyways, the topic turned to guys enjoying a finger in the ass. I myself, enjoy it from time to time and took it a step further with my theory.
All women should adhere to this. Finger good, tongue better, dildo baaaaaadddddddd!!!!!!!
So, throughout the whole trip that was the ongoing statement and it had us all rolling. In fact, we should get those t-shirts made up and wear them proud!
Question #2
Define the term and meaning behind the word 'romance'.
I'd like to say first and foremost that I learned the term romance, from the KING of romance, Mr. Romance, SPACash Gerard. Romance is simply enjoying the company of a woman. I myself am after true romance, so this is about the quest of finding that companionship wherever it may exist. So, whenever you hear some of us say, "romance!" that means we are on the pursuit of finding true romance. Hope that makes sense.
Gerard, feel free to add your 2 cents my romantic friend.
Question #3
Talk about Raven.
Raven Riley is whom I am presuming you are asking about. Simply put, she is a wonderful person inside and out and we are great friends. We have hang out from time to time at shows and enjoy each others company. It’s a win win relationship when shopping together. She tries stuff on and I tell her if it looks good or not
If you're not promoting her (link) site you're missing out on some nice revenue.
How many single girl personal sites can claim they have had a rap song made about them?

Question #4
Why do they call you "pebble" and "spider monkey"?
I have been called the Pebble by many of my friends because they say there is a strong resemblance between the Rock and I, when I do the raised eyebrow look. The Pebble simply because I am not the size of the Rock, but rather a Pebble.
J$tyle$ captured it perfectly:

Spider monkey is a term of endearment Gerard gave me while we traveled Europe together. We all masterbate and if you say you don't you're lying. It helps me relax and I used to do it before pro soccer games...lol I've had some really good games doing this and it was sort of a ritual. My roommate on the road would laugh when he walked out the door to the team bus. One time I was late and my coach left me! I had to take a taxi to the Thomas & Mack Center where we were playing the Las Vegas Dustdevils in a playoff game.
These are favorite monkies:
Question #5
What's the deal on your infatuation with giving oral sex? Why are you always talking about it?
Let's get this straight. Oral sex with a woman and not a man I am a giving person first and foremost. It is in my nature and always has been. I love bringing good feelings into other people's lives and this happens to carry into the bedroom. Now, that doesn't mean I don’t enjoy when a woman gives back. They name streets after women who aren't givers, One Way.
It happens to be something I am passionate about, so perhaps this is why I am so candid about it with my friends.
Question #6
Why did a girl in Vegas make you brush your teeth? Who's tooth brush did you use?
Let's just say it had something to do with the previous answer and if you want to hear the juicy details, I might tell you over a drink in Vegas. Meet me at the Circle Bar in the Venetian.
Oh and I used Ramos' toothbrush, courtesy of Juicy.
Question #7
Are you an Actor? Discuss.
I am always trying to better myself, so I have recently been studying acting the past year and started taking classes. Part of the class, is that we do a couple of showcases. 1 in San Diego and 1 in Los Angeles. Every student gets a skit and mine was playing John Cusack in Runaway Jury. Acting brings out the same butterflies I would get before soccer matches. I ended up doing very well for my first showcase and got signed by one of the oldest and most respected agencies in town. I've yet to get any jobs, but have been on a call back for a commerical and got down to the last couple of people. I've also been to an audition for a new pilot at Stu Segal Productions here in San Diego. They have produced Silk Stalkings, Renegade and most recently Veronica Mars. I am looking forward to continue to immerse myself in this and would like to get involved with local theatres in San Diego. I am also pondering if I should move to Los Angeles, so I can be closer to the action. I am not trying to live the pipe dream. I am totally happy with what I am doing now, but taking the same passion I had with soccer and putting that energy into learning the craft of acting. If good things happen then that is icing on the cake.
As many people know, I love to dance and I love to sing. Take me to a karaoke bar and I will be first on stage. I am not afraid.
Question #8
What instrument(s) can you play?
We have guitar fingers in my family. All of my Uncles play the guitar and my Uncle Bob plays the Uke. My Brother also plays and my Parents bought me one for my birthday. So, my goal is to learn how to play the Uke. There is nothing better than to be able to pick up a Uke and play it at a family party, at a beach bonfire with friends, or for that special someone. Heck, I would even play it at a webmaster event, should I get good enough. The Uke is a kewl instrument and I look forward to learning it.
Here is a pic of my Uncle Bob and my Brother James jamming on Christmas Eve. I hope I will be jamming with them by next Christmas.
Question #9
What happened in Montreal late at night when you came out of an elevator all excited and saw Juicy?
Probably romance, but I can't quite remember. It was late at night and I was a bit tipsy. Perhaps over some drinks at the Circle Bar in Vegas, it will help bring back my memory There were actually a few times I came out of the elevator on that trip, and ran into Juicy on the hotel lobby couch. I'm always excited for the most part. This is nothing new.
Question #10
Talk about your time as a professional soccer player? Who the fuck is this Paul Gelvezon soccer playing guy I keep finding on google that looks like you?
My real name for those of you who do not know is, Paul Gelvezon.
Soccer (futbol) has played a major part in my life. As a youth I played on a team called the La Jolla Nomads and we won the McGuire Cup Championship (best youth club team in the USA). I was also an Olympic Development Player and grew up playing against and with players such as, Cobi Jones, Kasey Keller, Brad Friedel, Chris Henderson, Mark Chung, Eric Wynalda, Marcelo Balboa. The list goes on and on. While in college, at the University of San Diego I was 1st Team West Coast Conference (WCC), WCC Player of the Week (multiple times), All-American and scored 2 goals against Friedel and 1 against Keller. They are the 2 best goalkeepers our country has ever produced and they are both millionaires, still playing pro in the top division of England and Germany respectively. I also played Professional soccer for 7 seasons. 5 seasons indoors and 2 outdoors. I played indoor for the San Diego Sockers (CISL1993-95). We lost to the Dallas Sidekicks in the championship match. This game was played in front of a sold out Reunion Arena crowd of 15,000 and I fouled Tatu, which led to their winning goal. Bullshit call and we were 2 min away from the championship at one point. Then I played for the Sacramento Knights (CISL 1996) where we played in ARCO Arena and used the Kings locker room/weight room as ours. Working out side by side w/ some of the Kings was normal. Then I went to a different league that same year and played for the Tampa Bay Terror (NPSL 1996). YBOR city rocked there and that was the first time I ever hooked up with a Hooters Girl. Damn she was hot. Then off to Seattle I went and played for the Seattle Sounders in the A-League (2nd Division under the MLS) Individually my best season indoor was in 1994, where I had 22 Goals 11 assists. 1997 was my best outdoor season where I had 3 Goals 10 assists. The largest crowd I have ever played in front of was 35,000 screaming fans in Guatemala at Mateo de Flores. We played in this stadium, 1 week after dozens had died there before a World Cup qualifying match in 1996.
http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9610/16/guatemala.soccer/
It was a VERY eerie feeling stepping on to the field the day before, when we went to practice and walked over to where dozens had died. A gate had collapsed and the panic stricken people were crushed or suffocated.
The night of the game, we opened against Communicaciones, which was the Champion from Guatemala and we had to enter the field through a Pepsi inflatable tunnel. The reason for this, was so that we didn't get hit with lighter, bottles, or change. Believe it or not, it happens. We ended up losing 2-0, but it was a hard fought match.
You can still Google me and find some info under my name Paul Gelvezon. Here is my trading card when I was a Seattle Sounder:

Question #11
How many women in the industry have you had sex with? How many women total in your life? How many men? How many 3 somes? Orgies?
Let's just say I am not a newbie when it comes to women. I have many gay friends in the industry. Morgan and Tim from Cybersocket, Harlan and the rest of the crew at PrideBucks, Darren over at SexKey...J/K Darren is VERY straight and he is going to kill me for this. The list goes on and on. My point is I am very gay friendly, but have had not sex with men and don't plan on it. I am very heterosexual. Sorry Cory. 3 somes and orgies I can count on 1 hand.
Since we're on the top of sex, this is , but this smiley reminded me of Nip/Tuck, when Christian was doing his patient from behind and made her put the bag on her head.
Okay GFY late night crew, I am off to bed. I will continue to pound away at this in the morning. Later skaters.
Question #12
How do you go an entire show without sleep?
This is a BIG misconception actually. I actually do sleep, probably more than most. After being in the industry this long, you learn a lot on what to do. My strategy is to network as much as possible early in the show, when everyone is fresh.
I think my advantage is that when at home I go to a fitness class at 6:30am at least 3-4 times a week, so I am used to getting up early and not needing a ton of sleep. Plus, I think being fit helps out a ton, as well as taking a lot of vitamins and drinking a ton of water.
So, in answer to your question I actually do sleep and sneak naps in every now and then. I remember hearing that a true sleep cycle is 20 minutes or 1.5hrs, so I try to adhere to that when taking naps. If you nap too long, it can actually make you feel more tired.
Also, midway through the show I will hit the spa, get a massage, sit in the steam room and jacuzzi and detox. It helps rejuvenate your body and you feel like a new person. Very metro thing to do as well. The best spa I have been to thus far during a show is the one at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood Florida.
Question #13
How big a role does alcohol play in your world renowned dancing skills? nudity? shirtlessness?
I would have to admit, it does play a BIG factor. I couldn't really see myself doing it when sober...lol. Everyone has their unique characteristics and personalities about them. This is mine obviously and I guess I feel comfortable in my skin. Shirts just get in the way...lol. Perhaps Chippendales is my calling? I'd have to lose some lbs to do that though...hahaha. Can't recall any nudity, so no explanation there. All in all, people seem to enjoy it and yes, women and men egg me on!!!
I'm sure there are those who hope my New Year's resolution is to keep my shirt on.

Question #14
Would you leave Jupiter hosting for the right part in a movie?
I think our CEO, Ray Taft would tar and lynch me if I DIDN'T leave. In fact, I believe he would encourage me to do it. That being said, I honestly feel I could still work for Jupiter . All there really needs to be is a wireless connection and I am set. So yes, I would leave, but also try and stay on board with Jupiter Hosting .
Speaking of movies, this is the perfect segue. I am going to take off and check out King Kong. I hear it is awesome, but just noticed it is 3hrs. See you guys when I get back and more answers to follow...
Question #15
How many casting calls have you been on? Why didn't you get the part?
I am a newbie to casting calls. Here are my few experiences...
My very first one was for a mockumentary style film, similar to the popular tv show, "The Office". It went really well and I actually got to read with 2 students that I have met from my acting classes. So, it was the perfect situation for a nervous newbie. I read well with both of them and was pretty stoked that what I have been learning was paying off. I knew going in that I wasn't a good fit for the lead, Tommy. Tommy was unathletic and fighting his gay inner demons. I could think of a few of my friends here on gfy who would've been perfect...lol. Anyways, I emailed the Director thanking him and he replied back saying I ready very well, but that I wasn't a good fit for Tommy. That being said, he wanted to know if I would be open to a smaller part. I said yes, but when they looked at my availability on the papers I filled out, it conflicted with some business trips and I couldn't justify not going on the trip to Europe for Webmaster Access.
The 2nd one was for a law commercial and I was auditioning for the part of a defendant in a domestic violence case. This was my 2nd audition and I got a call back, which was pretty kewl because there were about 150 people. The premise was that my wife called the cops at a family party and she was totally lying to the cops saying I had pushed her. So, the scene is at the law office and my little boy is sitting in the waiting room playing his Game Boy. I am sitting between the 2 lawyers and the Director asks us to improvise. I have to explain what happened and the lawyers make me feel like I have a great case.
For the call back, which was a few days later, they actually bring kids in who are going for that part. Well, this time they matched me up with a litte boy and I had to approach him and ask him if we was alright, as I enter the waiting room, where he is playing his Game Boy. He says yeah and we hug each other. We did this multiple times and did really well, but it got to us and another Dad/Son. They ended up getting it I think, but it was a kewl experience.
Anyways, the last one was down at Stu Segal Productions, here in San Diego and I auditioned for a Pilot called Fashion Week. I was casting for a Security Guard, at the limo entrance. Didn't get the part, but good experience nonetheless.
I am getting more and more comfortable going to these and you never know what can happen. Persistence, luck, and networking is what it is all about. Thus far in my life, I think these 3 things have been essential to my success, so I will keep plodding along.
My goal for 2006 is to try and get involved in theatre. Live performance is not easy and I think this would be a great training ground.
Question #16
Are you in the USA on a green card or a visa? Discuss.
Actually, I'm in the US on a pink card. Halcyon and Tassy gave it to me and we live in the pink neighborhood in Solana Beach.
No, I am proud to say that I was born at Admirals Air Force Base in Maryland. USA baby!
Question #17
Why do you shit your pants so often?
Ok, let's get this straight, I do not shit my pants often. All of this happened when I was in Ibiza Spain for a week of drinking, dancing and other substances. We have all had what I call "assidents" while out in public and I happened to have 2 in Ibiza. The first assident happened after traveling for like 24hrs.
This is a nice story. So, I travel from San Diego to Washington Dulles Airport. Then I am off to Amsterdam. I run into Uncle D and I am pissed because my phone is not working and I had just bought a SIM card. Uncle D and I say our goodbyes and I am off to Barcelona. FINALLY off on my last leg to Ibiza. I arrive at 10pm and have no idea if anyone is picking me up. I actually don't care at this point, as I am just excited to finally get there. So, I get there and the airport is packed. I'm looking for Gerard and I can't call him because my phone doesn't work, so I am trying to get a hold of the place we are staying at. I get in touch with the lady, whose place we are staying at, but the connection is bad from the pay phone. Fortunately I have the address of the place we are staying at. As I turn around to go and get a cab a person places a hand on my shoulder and lo and behold it is Mr. Romance SPACash Gerard! It was like seeing a long lost Brother. Anyways, we go outside and I feel like a bolt of lightning has gone through my body and reenergized me. I'm thinking I get to go the place and shower, but no, they say we are going the opposite direction and that I have to change right then and there. So, like the trooper I am, I get changed in the parking lot and throw some deodorant on. From there, we went straight out and I am operating on minimal sleep. So, this is what I attribute my 1st assident to.
Here's a pic of me that first night trying to pick up on some of the locals with Angelo aka Italian Stallion.
Question #18
Talk about the time you went to a trade show floor naked?
Damn, I have been in the business since 98' and I can't remember this happening. Anyone care to shed some light on this???
The only time I can remember going nude to anything was when myself, YNOTBob and Colin Rowntree from WasteLand, jumped in the pool buck naked during Cybernet. This was in Miami, like 5 or 6 years ago.
Question #19
How many golf clubs did you lose while playing golf last year?
If any of you haven't had the pleasure of playing golf with Jason from Oh Mobile, then you are missing out. I had the pleasure of playing with him at the Phoenix Forum last year and it was a mixture of "Jackass" and "Happy Gilmore". Just make sure you have your clubs firmly glued to the cart for the offroad adventures! I lost my Odyssey putter somewhere on the back 9...lol. I think it fell out when we were doing donuts or something.
Question #20
Talk about your grandfather and some of the things he did in WW2. Discuss in detail please. Great story here.
Back when I was 13, my Dad took my Brother and I to the Philippines for
the 1st time to visit his side of the family. In the Philippines you
call your Grandfather and Grandmother Lolo and Lola. You also take
their hand and touch it to your forehead out of respect. The elderly
are respected a great deal over there, as it should be.
So, our Lolo Ramon
picks us up at the airport and right away we get escorted out of the
airport, skip customs, and go straight to his car, where the driver is
waiting for us.. My Lolo was a very powerful man over there, as he was
a retired Brigadier General and knew a lot of people in high places. He
went to the same military academy as former Presidents, Marcos and Ramos
and he knows all of them. While he was very loving, you could also see a serious side to him.
Anyways, my Brother and I are kicking back at their house in Manila and
notice this samurai sword on the mantle. We ask if we can see it, and
my Lolo says to be very careful with it, as it is from World War Two.
At the time, we didn't know the full story of why it was there. I can't
exactly remember when we found out, but one day at home in San Diego, my
Dad shows me a history book and how the Japanese tried to invade the
islands during World War Two. During this time, there had been intesnse
fighting in the Southern Province of Iloilo City and my Lolo was
present. He was a Major at the Japanese were about to surrender. After
some negotiations with the US Commander, they decided to surrender. My
Lolo accepted the sword from the Japanese and this was the same sword I
had seen in the living room, back when I was 13 years old.
Here are pics straight from the pages of the book, the sword, and pics of
me and my Brother with my Lolo, Brigadier General Ramon Gelvezon. My Brother James, is in the top photos and I am in the bottom 2. I am 22 years old in the 2nd one and 13 years old in the last one.
---
I should note, that my Lolo's military history has not always been stellar. When he was at the academy, as a young cadet, he was involved in a love triangle. The girl ended up getting killed by an angry ex-boyfriend and my Lolo was distraught. His grades suffered and he was somewhat of a scapegoat. In the end, he ended up coming out of it and rose in ranks. It is a classic story of hitting bottom and then excelling all the way to the top. Along with my Father, my Lolo is my hero.
Question #21
What kind of education did you get? Highschool and post secondary. Where? Discuss this time in your life.
I went to Mira Mesa High School in San Diego and continued on to The University of San Diego and earned a Bachelor of Science in History. I didn't specialize in anything particular, but just really enjoyed reading, writing, and learing about our world. Contemporary events are what interest me the most.
If I could go back, I think I would apply myself a little bit more and not focus solely on soccer. I was so determined to become a Pro soccer player, which I did, but I think I could've done better academically. I didn't do poor, but didn't do great. I was a B student.
Question #22
What the fuck is Drumbeat and what did you do for them?
So, back in 1997 I wanted to move back to San Diego and it just so happened there was a pro team down here called the San Diego Flash. I ended turning down a deal with them, because I found my first real job and decided it was time to hang the boots up. I was at bar in San Diego and ran into a high school buddy and he was working for one of the first WYSIWYG tools called Drumbeat. I ended up doing inside sales support there for a year. They ended up getting bought by Macromedia and I had a job offer with them, but I would have had to relocate to the Bay Area and I wasn't ready to do that. I believe the next generation of Drumbeat was Macromedia's UltraDev product.
If you Google: Drumbeat Elemental Software a lot of results still come up about them.
Question #23
How did a highway billboard change your career and lead you to adult online?
As fate would have it, I was driving on the freeway one day and kept seeing this obnoxious billboard on the road that said, Hi Tech Job Fair. It was in black font with a pink background. No offense Halcyon & Tassy ;). So, I kept seeing it and was wondering if I should go check it out. On the last day, I decided to drive down to the convention center and there was only 1 hour left. I had my resume in hand and was very intimidated seeing companies like Raytheon. As I walked around, everyone was starting to pack up their booths and I came across a company called WebSideStory (HitBOX). I had no idea what they did, but I liked the name and the people seemed approachable. They were the only company I turned my resume into. After many interviews, one which was with Rainey Stricklin (PrideBucks), I was hired. I had no idea what the company really did, but ended up working with and for some great people. I endedup working for Rainey in online ad sales, where she was also Scott Rabinowitz's (TrafficDude) boss. Scott was in charge of the adult traffic and I learned a great deal from both of them. I went on to become one of the top salespeople there on a team of like 18 at one time.
It was pretty exciting experiencing the whole IPO hype, even though we didn't go public at the time. Every Friday we would have a happy hour with kegs and food on the 6th floor rooftop. You can see the ocean from here and I actually had an ocean view from my office and could tell if the surf was pumping. Rainey used to have some kewl team contests, that focused not only on numbers, but physical activities as well. I won a lot of those...heh We used to also have a nerf basketball hoop and I'm not talking about the kind you hang on the wall. We had the fullon stand that you fill up with water and can slam dunk on. Okay, for me its a slam dunk
WebSideStory did end up going public and their stock isn't doing too bad WSSI
Good times and great memories!
Question #24
How did you end up working for Jupiter hosting?
After WebSideStory unsuccessfully tried to go public back in 2000, Rainey started Detour Interactive. I left WSS and went with Rainey and continued to sell traffic. After a long working relationship with Rainey, I decided I needed to branch out on my own and started Poppy-Enterprises. Like many other consultants, I decided to align myself and rep a few companies. Non competing of course. I ended up repping some respectable email lists and also promoted Spread4U. One day, I was talking to Tanker and he mentioned I should add Adult.com to my list. Well, I ended up taking them on as client and it was agreed I would sell hosting. So, I flew up and and met with both Lensman and Ray Taft (CEO, Jupiter) and the rest is history. I have been with Jupiter since 1993 and enjoy every minute of it. I have a learned a ton and am still learning. I have pretty much been the only salesperson here, but we are growing so much, that that will change. We have recently hired an industry veteran, Kevin Croy aka KC (Paycounter). KC is our Vice President of Business Development. All 3 of us will be in Vegas, so if anyone would like to meet up with us to discuss biz, please call my cell 858-922-0044. We are now offering Software Development and all of our provided by on-site staff, not outsourced. This is a great way to reduce your costs and production time.
Question #25
What do you do to stay in shape? Post pics of the bod.
I love staying and shape and attend http://www.egoscue.com/htdocs/athletics/index.asp regularly. Pro football players, Junior Seau and John Lynch credit much of their longevity and success to Egoscue. I also enjoy surfing, snowboarding and still play soccer in the local men's league. I play on our Nomads Alumni team and still play with a core group of guys who I have known since 12 years old. Beach volleyball is something else I enjoy and this summer Hal and Tassy actually walked by one day while I was playing on the beach. Golf is also enjoyable and I play from time to time. I would like to start taking a martial art and I am leaning towards Muay Thai Boxing.
As far as pics of my body go, I'm sure there are enough in this thread, so I will decline.
Question #26
How many adult conventions do you attend a year? Which are your
favorites? Least favorites? Most memorable experiences?
I would say I attend about 10 shows per year in adult and I would have to say everyone single one of them has something special about them. I really don't have a least favorite and look forward to every show that comes up.
I do feel however, that CCBill has raised the bar with the Phoenix Forum and the Webmaster Access Events are right behind. The Cybernet Show is nice because it is in my backyard and the recent JBM smaller venue was a nice change.
Question #27
Where do you live and why? Where have you lived in your life?
I live in San Diego, simply because it is "America's Finest City". The weather here is consistent year round and for the most part, stays in the mid 60's to 70's. I live about 1/4 mile from the beach and love to surf, so it is essential I live on the coast. Ocean sunsets are the best. Especially when they are red, orange, and pinks all in one.
Besides San Diego, I have lived in Quincy, Ilinois (freshmen year I went to Quincy College, which is now Quincy University), North Lake Tahoe (worked at Squaw Valley in 1993, selling tickets at the resort), Sacramento, Tampa, and Seattle.
Question #28
How did you get the name Poppy?
I have always had a lot of nicknames. It all started with my Brother. His nickname back in high school was Nipper. We are a mixed family and because we both played soccer, we grew up with a lot white kids. Where I grew up in Mira Mesa aka Manila Mesa, there is a large contingent of Filipinos. During high school I used to get called white wash, because I used to hang with my soccer buddies and they were all white. It's a good thing because I probably would have been in a gang, which happened to a lot of kids I grew up with. So, being short, I was called Half Pint, who is a famous reggae legend. I listened to a lot of reggae in high school and we would go to shows all the time. When I was playing pro, one of my teammates and child hood friends started calling me hay Poppy. He got it from that stupid song that came out that said hay Poppy Poppy. My name went from Paul, to Pablo, to Papito, to Pupac (like Tupac) and finally Poppy. Poppy has stuck til this day and I even have one tattooed on my arm and on my business card. Its easier for people to remember, rather than Paul.
Question #29
How have family deaths changed your life and helped you to grow?
Like I was saying, family is very important to me. When I was 13 I had an Uncle die at the very young age of 31. His name was Daniel aka Danny and he was an accomplished classical guitarist and cyclist. I remember the day vividly when the phone call came. I was over at my Grandma's house and my Uncle Rich and I were shooting rubber bands at each other. The phone rang and after about 1 minute, I could hear crying and screaming. I knew something was wrong. It turns out my Uncle had been coming back from a weekend in the desert and they were driving back in the van. All of a sudden he started talking about how beautiful and green the scenery was. Keep in mind, they were in the desert. Then, he just slumped in his chair and fell backwards and died of a massive heart attack. Daniel was always a nice and mellow Uncle. He was extremely talented on a bike and even more so on the guitar. He was a member of the Orion Duo, which consisted of him and his partner Fred Benedetti. Fred Benedetti is one of the best classical and contemporary guitarist to this day and you can Google his name, if this interests you.
My Uncle's death prepared me for the hardest one as of yet. My Grandmother passed while I was still in college. I was a Senior at the University of San Diego and was taking a class called Sex, Power, and Politics. During this class we were too right journals and I asked my Professor if I could write one on my experiences with what I was dealing with at that time. Because I was at the hospital a lot and missing class, she approved this.
My Grandmother was the centerpiece of our family. She was a very loving lady and would come to all of my soccer games. My Grandparents would drive in their motorhome and follow me around from tournament to tournament. Anyways, when she died our family became splintered for many years and are now back to normal. Its hard when the glue falls apart. It was during this time at the hospital that I learned a lot more about my Grandma from my Aunt Jean and wrote about this for my class. During World War Two, my Grandma was a young girl. She was half white and half Filipino, but because some people didn't know what she was she had to wear a button that said, I am not Japanese. This was during the time when there were Japanese interment camps that were setup in the United States. My Aunt continued to tell me amazing stories about my Grandmother and I continued to write stuff down. Well, when she passed in the hospital, it was the most surreal experience I've had to deal with. My family ended up asking me to read my paper that I had wriiten for class, at the funeral. This was one of the hardest things I have had to do. I got up in front of a packed funeral house and read my paper aloud, about my Grandmother. I almost broke down and started crying, but was all of a sudden got this calm about me, as if she was helping me out. I finished it and my Mom, was so happy I did it, as was the rest of the family.
It is kind of ironic how WW2 affected my Grandmother on my Mom's side differently than my Lolo in the Philippines.
Question #30
Do you own or rent your home? pics.
I rent and I live in a 3 bedroom townhouse in the coastal beach town of Solana Beach. Walking distance from the Del Mar Racetrack and very close to the ocean. My digital camera is not working, so unfortunately I do not have pics.
I have 1 roomate, named Clinton Walker. He is a bit of an entrepenuer. Not only does he host a nationally televised show on Starz Encore Wham Network, called Planet X (Similar to FUEL TV, but not 24/7), but he also owns an SEO company. Through his SEO company he was able to bring the owner of Pimp My Ride/West Coast Customs on as a client and now has his hands in their hip hop label, House of Collaborations. You'll be hearing about them soon. They are blowing up and Snoop & Dr. Dre are involved in some facet. To top it all of Clinton also owns Movie Made Productions and they have a DVD that they will distribute soon called, American X Think GGW + Extreme Sports, crashes, etc...He just did a deal with Sony PSP, but I can't go into details.
Question #31
What kind of car do you drive? Pics.
I drive a Dolphin Gray 2004 Audi A4 Quattro. It has the Ultra Sports, Premium, and Lighting Packages. I love it. Nothing too flashy, but perfect for me. I also have a 1990 Isuzu Trooper that I use for surfing and snowboarding and it green. Perfect for Mexico trips.
The only pic I have is this one, that Derek Smout took at Webmaster Access. It is the back of it and Raven, Lia, and I just got back from shopping on Melrose.
